03 — About

Julian Reyes

Julian works between stillness and motion — a photographer and filmmaker whose practice began in documentary reportage and grew into fashion, editorial and commercial storytelling without losing its instinct for the unposed moment.

Based in San Francisco and shooting internationally, his work is defined by restraint: long observation, deliberate light and a refusal to manufacture what isn't already true in the room.

04 — Philosophy

Light first. Story always.

Every project begins the same way — in silence, watching before deciding anything should be photographed at all. The camera only comes up once the light and the moment agree.

I work in restraint. Fewer set-ups, longer observation, and a refusal to manufacture emotion that isn't already in the room. What's real reads as real.

Whether the format is a single portrait or a three-day campaign, the goal is the same: an image that still means something once the context around it is gone.

Client testimonials

Julian sees the moment before it happens. Every frame from our day feels like it was waiting to be found, not staged.

The campaign didn't feel like a shoot — it felt like a set. Every image could run full-page without a single crop.

Rare to find someone equally fluent in stills and motion. The film and the photographs told the same story in two languages.
